Due to the Himalayas, Nepal’s relations with China are not as easy as that with India. In spite of this, Nepal’s trade relations with China is very old. Nepal important woolen blankets, fur, salt, pasmina, sheep, etc. from Tibet, Nepal exported pepper, species and herbs to Tibet.
The relation between Nepal and China became stronger in 2012 B.S., (August 10, 1955) when diplomatic relation was established. The heads of the governments of the two countries have exchanged their visits to each other’s country. China has helped Nepal in many fields like industry, transport, hydroelectricity, health and construction works. Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory, Harisiddhi Brick and Tile Factory, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur Brick Factory, Bhrikuti Paper and Pulp factory, Nawalparasi, national Trading Ltd. Building and Godown, Teku, Hetauda Cloth mill were established with the co-operation of China. In the transport sector, Chinese have contributed in establishing the Tripureshwar-Bhaktapur Trolley Bus Service, Araniko Highway(Kathmandu-Kodari), Prithivi Highway (kathmandu-Pokhara), Gorkha Narayangadh Highway, Pokhara baglung Highway and Ring-road (Kathmandu valley). Similarly, China has built Sunkoshi Hydroelectricity Project, B.P. koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chitwan, City Hall, International Conference hall, New Baneshwar. China providing lots of help for Nepal in many important conditions so but due to corruption of Nepal did not give the way for the development of the nation.
